Resveratrol

Resveratrol is a beneficial compound that is produced by grapes and certain plants (such as Japanese Knotweed (Polygonum cuspidatum). As it is often found in red wine, resveratrol is often referred to as red wine extract. Resveratrol has been suggested to be helpful in increasing lifespan, protection from heart disease, and insulin resistance in humans. In horses, it has received attention for its ability to help horses suffering from insulin resistance and metabolic problems.
