Chondroitin Sulfate

Chondroitin sulfate (CS) is a glycosaminoglycan used in the synthesis of proteoglycans. When provided to horses as an oral supplement, it aids in the production of and decreases the breakdown of cartilage. CS is often found in conjunction with glucosamine in joint supplements. Research conducted in horses has shown that the horse's ability to absorb CS varies.
