Venezuelan equine encephalitis virus

Venezuelan equine encephalitis (VEE) virus is a type of alphavirus of the family Togaviridae. It is related to Eastern equine encephalitis (EEE) virus and Western equine encephalitis (WEE) virus. Birds and rodents are the natural reservoirs of the virus and humans are a major amplifier. Mosquitoes serve as vectors.

Disinfection
VEE virus can be inactivated using common disinfectants such as peroxygen-based disinfectants, 2% glutaraldehyde.
